The birthplace of Louis Braille that is home to the Louis Braille Museum is open to the public.

The 18th-century Briard home was birthplace to Louis Braille (1809-1852), the inventor of the universal writing system that carries his name.

At the age of three, in his father’s saddle making studio on the ground floor, he injured his eye and lost his sight sometime later.
