Dans l'ensemble paroissial de Donnemarie-Dontilly datant du XIIIème siècle, un jardin de cloître, sur l'ancien cimetière a pour thème la vie et la mort. De plan centré, ce jardin médiéval rassemble des plantes médicinales et aromatiques. Christophe Grunenwald a restitué un jardin clos et des carrés de culture entourés de fascines présentant des lectures botaniques symboliques et religieuses en harmonie avec l'architecture. Cette restauration a reçu le prix du patrimoine en 1998.
