Located on the second floor of the chateau of Ferrières, the Museum of the Imagination, comprises seven rooms - six of them are reserved for paintings and one for sculpture - dedicated to seven artists. These artists work in the manner of old Masters and have a limited production of 5 to 15 works per year.
Bought by collectors and patrons, this work has little media coverage. The museum’s aim is to promote this form of art called “Fantastic Realism" in the media.
Each room is dedicated to an artist though exposes his work for a few months before it enters and the commercial circuit of galleries and shows.
This form of exhibition has the advantage of creating a museum that is constantly changing and that can be visited many times without seeing the same works.
This is a showcase for Fantastic Art run by a non-profit making association, all forms of commercial transaction are prohibited within the chateau. The museum is part of the Marie-Hélène and Guy de Rothschild Foundation and has been set up with the help of the Chancellery of the Universities of Paris.
