The Montereau earthenware factory, founded in 1745, associated with the Creil factory from 1840 to 1895, then Choisy in 1920, was shut down in 1955.
Twenty years later, when the factory was demolished, what remained of these two centuries of production? Patient collection from 1871 has meant to a sample of this production has been little by little reconstituted.
The municipal Museum, who had to keep and present these witnesses to 19th-century industrial art, has become a specialised Museum.
It has presented since 1985 in the old, completely renovated Post Office a selection of 400 pieces that show changes in shapes and decoration over time.
